Red Coat of Love!
So this is just before my 38 week Monday!! We're so excited to see when Phoebe decides to arrive!
Last spring I was shopping in Old Navy with some friends and saw this red coat on sale. It's not a maternity coat but it was a red pea coat and I just loved it! So although it made me look huge- I figured I could always sew an extra button on it since there were only 2 buttons on it and it just made me look fat. I thought to myself, "maybe I"ll be pregnant next winter and it'll be perfect for that! It was originally $90 and I got it for $12. Well, praise the Lord I bought it because I've worn it just about every day this winter! I thank the Lord for giving me the wisdom to make this amazing, warm purchase. I remember I almost talked myself out of it but thankfully I was with friends who knew what a great deal it was!

Love of my Life
Where would I be without Jesus' love? I definitely would not be where I am today. He holds me up and takes care of me even when I don't show my love to Him. Besides my first love, my second love is also incredible.
Thank you so much, Lord, for giving me a wonderful husband who loves me despite myself. My sweetie is truly the most amazing man I've ever met. I've spent 5 Valentine's days with my best friend so far; we usually go out to eat for it, but we're not big into greeting cards or expensive gifts. We put all of our holidays and birthdays together and celebrate with one big trip each year, /but I don't feel like I'm "missing out" at all, because I feel like every day is Valentine's day. My sweetie is so sacrificial! He's the best second-opinion ever- even when I can't make a decision ( like standing in front of the ice cream freezers in Target for 25 minutes trying to decide between Coffee or Strawberry ice cream) he's patient and loving. And when I say things like "thanks for putting up with me, sweetie" he always replies, "I don't have to put up with you!"
I could write a book about the love I have for him and different illustrations of how he shows me his love. It just keeps getting better! God has truly blessed me beyond my wildest dreams! I never thought being married could be THIS amazing!!

It just needs a Phoebe
So we finally finished Phoebe's room!! We got the crib at the Brandt shower but when we (and when I say "we", I mean my sweetie) started to put the crib together we found a broken piece.
Two weeks later- we were able to exchange the crib piece and get the rest of the items from Target that we needed. Between our 10% off registry coupon and my sister's discount for working there- we saved $131!! We also got an Xbox Kinect and the Biggest Loser game to go with it!
Today, my sweetie cut an extra dowel for the closet, finished the crib, and we finalized the decor.

I think the shadow of me in the window is hilarious! Look at that belly! The cube colors coordinate perfectly with the crib set and lampshade, and of course no room is complete without a painting by Gramsy =)
I got this adorable Giraffe at a garage sale at the end of the summer. 50 cents!! He's sweet, soft, and you can sit on him!!! I can't wait to take pictures of Phebe's riding around on his cuteness =)
Our baby room is completed we just need to have her now. As my sweetie rested afterwards, he enjoyed her boppy as a neck rest, her giraffe as a footstool, her blanket, and teddy bear.

Car Seat and Stroller Building
So in the process of getting many new things for our little girl, we needed to buy a carseat and stroller. Babies R' Us has a deal where if you exchange an older "big item" you can get a new one at 25% off. So we went to the Wee Ones storage unit, found a nasty car seat that expired in '05 and saved 55 bucks!. then between giftcards and referral money (from my bank) we were able to pay for the whole travel system almost to the penny without going into the budget at all! God is so good! We got it home and once the box was in our living room it became very surreal that this was happening! At first, we weren't too keen on the colors but they will look good with lots of pink and is versatile for other babies (Lord willing =)
What are these?? Torture devices? (we finally figured it out)

Of course, I had to climb in the box!
One of the coolest features is the fact that I can plug my zune in and listen to music as I walk/jog with Phoebe's =)

On Sunday, my sweetie put it all together and we both absolutely love it now!

Baby Shower 3.0
My wonderful sisters, Mindi and Gwendy, put on a baby shower for us in Council Bluffs. It was so much fun! They made the cutest cake pops that looked like little baby faces (using candy necklace pieces as pacifiers and hand made pink bows for the girl's hair).
Phoebe got some beautiful clothes, a handmade blanket from Stacie and Gwendy, diapers, a feeding seat, some gift cards to target, and her CRIB, amongst many other things!

I also recieved a diaper bag- such a blessing since I've spent hours trying to figure out which one I wanted. I've searched Amazon and have stood staring at the diaper bags in Babies R' Us and Target for a long time! So glad that decision was made for me and I absolutely LOVE it!! It's perfect for us!!!
