The first night at the hospital was a pretty sleepless one. I woke up every 2 hours or so and my sweetie and I went upstairs to feed Phoebe. Once she was fed we'd go back down to our recovery room and try to get an hour or so of sleep. I have to admit that once my head touched the pillow, I was out cold- but it wasn't too hard to get back up once the alarm went off/the nurse called - since I knew I was going to see our adorable little girl!! Looking back at these pictures brings back so many emotions! She's so tiny- I just love her so much!
The next day Mom, Joy, Gary, Katheryn, Amanda, Carisa, Andrea and Brian, Pastor Thomas, and a couple others (sorry if I forgot you- I really meant to get a picture of everyone that came but my mind was some place else- can't imagine where!) came to visit. It was so encouraging to see everyone!
Ashley and Lawrence came that evening and got some great shots!
Lawrence insisted on dressing up to meet Phoebe for the first time and even wore a pink tie for the occasion!
My Sweetie was totally smitten with her right away! I loved watching them interact together!
It was time for her first bath! The nurses were great- showing us what to do and how we had to be careful not to get the umbilical cord wet. It looks like I'm giving her a shot but I promise it was just water!
She LOVED getting her hair washed and her head massaged- and she still does!
ALL CLEAN!

We got her all dressed up in her first onesie. It was still so big on her!

I praise God the for the wonderful family He's given to us!!
That night was a struggle. I was sick of having to go up and down (eat food in our room then go back to the NICU to see Pheebs). I was sick of all the wires and tubes around. I was over tired and emotional! I didn't feel like she had to be there since she had passed all her tests, but my wonderful hubby- ever the steadfast one- reminded me that it was just precautionary and it was for her own good. I pulled out one of the blankets that Jenny Byron made for Phoebe and found such comfort knowing that my precious little girl was wrapped up in all that love. The two days in the NICU with her were really hard on me but it made it that much more
special to get home!
I was hoping there would be more! :) I really should get you a picture of Lawrence with color so you can see the pink tie...
